Movie Timeline

Did you think we were going to list every year here? No way, there are millions of years of World History here. That means, we've got to break it down some. Remember, we want all movies listed, from children's animated films to documentaries. Conflicting dates do not matter if the conflict is between two movies. (If the dates conflict and they're in the same movie, make sure it's not purposeful, a.k.a. living the same event twice on two timelines or something similar.)

Before Time (Before Time)

Believe it or not, some movies have events happen before the Dawn of Time. In that instance, they should be placed here. Only, however, those specific events that were referenced to be before time.

Try not to abuse this with creation stories :)

Pre-Mesozoic (Pre Mesozoic)

Movies often trek into the precambrian era, with theories of how life began. This time period is from the beginning of the universe/time until those happy little sea creatures evolved into extremely large lizards.

  • Earlier than 248,000,001 BC

Mesozoic (Mesozoic)

Anything that takes place during the age of dinosaurs. The mesozoic period is one of the most movie-famous periods of time, since giving rise to dinosaurs and early mammals.

  • 248,000,000 BC to 65,000,001 BC

Cenozoic to Stone Age (Cenozoic to Stone Age)

The Cenozoic Era is the Era in which modern humans currently live (as of 2006). This divider refers to anything from the beginning of the Cenozoic period to the end of the stone age.

  • 65,000,000 BC to 4001 BC

4000 BC to 1 BC (4000to1BC)

Basically, this is the rise of the Egyptian Empire, all the way until the birth of Judeo-Christian's Jesus Christ. This time period includes the Roman Empire, the Egyptians, the Bronze and Iron Ages, and the beginnings of European-Asian Monarchy.

AD 0 to AD 1399 (0to1399AD)

From the birth of Jesus (according to Augustan Roman calendars) until the major exploration and western modernization boom.

AD 1400 to AD 2000 (modern times) (1400to2000AD)

From Cortez, Columbus, and the European empires, until the turn of the millenium. A mighty modernizing time, and the highest concentration of movie history.

AD 2000 and Beyond (2000andBeyond)

Anything set in the future, primarily. Obviously covering "present day" since 01-01-2000.
